You know I am a self confessed product junkie. Just wanted to share a few items I am loving right now:
Moroccan Hair Oil is my new go to hair product. I put a dime sized amount in my hands and rub them together and then run it through damp, towel dried hair and voila….non-greasy, moisturized, manageable hair. I can let my hair air-dry and go curly. I can blow dry it straight. Yes, it’s pricey but it has done wonders for my hair and the frizzies. I can’t say enough.
Bare Minerals Makeup So you all know that I am a fan of this makeup line. After using it for over two years, this summer, I ventured out and decided I wanted to change things up. I don’t know, maybe turning 40 made me want to make a change. Can I tell you how much money I wasted trying foundation after foundation? I tried everything from Lancome to Makeup Forever to Clinique to Laura Mercier. Now you know….none of that stuff is cheap. I can do cheap anything but not on my face. Nope. Anyway, guess who was thrilled about all of my makeup exploration? Mama 1969 who has used it all. After about two weeks with each brand, I shipped it off to her and she loved getting all of it in the mail. I have finally returned to my beloved Bare Minerals and I can’t believe I ever strayed in the first place. My complexion has improved, my skin looks flawless and natural…not greasy, cakey or overly made up. I look like me, only better. I love this stuff and I will never stray again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes to Carrots Night Cream. Since my entry into a new decade of my life, I have been looking for moisturizing face products. I am doing my best to battle the forces of nature. There are so many night creams out there that cost a fortune. $200 face cream? Uh yeah…..NOT! I purchased the Yes To Carrots face cream at Target. It is also sold at Whole Foods. Natural ingredients, no parabens and it leaves my face feeling like velvet when I wake up. All that for under $15? Sold.
Mario Badescu Drying Cream is tied with Moroccan Oil for the best product I have purchased all summer. When I bought my Bare Minerals, I received a sample of this stuff. If you recall, I blogged about my face breaking out due to the summer workouts a few weeks ago. One night, I remembered I had this sample and decided to put it on my face before I went to bed. I woke up in the morning with all blemishes gone. I really thought it was a fluke. A few weeks passed and I had a few more blemishes. I put some of this on my face and the next morning? Gone. I recall seeing that little pink and green bottle in so many magazines over the years and never thinking twice but wow…..who knew? I don’t know if it will work for everyone but for me? The transformation in my skin has been amazing. I ran out and copped a jar and have been sporting my old great skin ever since. I love this product and can’t say enough. It’s sold at Sephora and at Ulta and it’s under $20. What a find!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!!

I can NOT find the Moroccan oil in my area. I don’t know if it’s available in stores here. I’ve been using Mario Badescu Drying Lotion (not the cream) off and on for years.
I got mine at the salon when I had my last haircut. If you want, I can get you some Erica…let me know.
Ooh, thanks for spreading the word about Yes To Carrots! Glad you’re happy with it. Did you see that there is a new line out this month? Yes To Blueberries! It’s all about age refreshing formulas. I think you’ll be pleased.
I love the products, especially the natural ingredients. I will be on the lookout for the blueberry line!
I saw that! Got some. (Haven’t tried it yet…) Also got the “Yes To Cucumbers”. At those prices, I just figured I may as well try them all.
I love Bare Essentials. I mostly use the shadows but it is a fave! OMG! Mario Badescu makes the best products ever!!! I love the pink drying lotion too!. I’m a product junkie so I will be trying the Yes to Carrots and the Moroccan oil. Thanks for the tips.
I am so mad that I am late to the Mario Badescu party!!! I love the drying cream. It’s a miracle worker.
I love Bare Minerals as well. I’ve tried other makeup lines and for me they simply don’t compare. I thought I was imagining things when it seemed like Bare Minerals helped improve my skin. I swear by carrot oil for my nails and the ends of my hair. I might have to try Yes to Carrots night cream.
Nope, my skin texture is better with Bare Minerals too. I think it’s the lack of all the chemicals. I missed it so. After a week using it again, my skin looked amazing,
You ladies have me sold on Bare Minerals, I guess I will have to try this product. I am so picky about putting foundation on my face because I am afraid of the cakey look. I tried form **** store and I looked like I was sweating, lol! So after that no more foundations for me! Bare Minerals will be my list as well as Yes to Carrots. I have locs so I’m not sure about the moroccan oil.
I use it on my locs and they feel wonderful afterwards. Use it the same way 1969 uses hers: damp, towel dried hair. You’ll love it!
Ohh ok! Since you like how the moroccan oil works on your locs I will try it! Thanks! I was just concerned about build up getting inside the locs. I looked up info on Yes to carrots, gotta try that also!
Ohhhhh im so hyped now! I found a salon that sells Moroccan oil in my area, just across the highway!!
I’m so happy Bare Essentials created a shade that worked for me. I have the Golden Tan shade and it’s the business! I looove Mario Badescu and use the Drying Cream as well as the Buffering Lotion, Oil Free Moisturizer ,AHA Cleanser and Seaweed Toner. MB is good stuff!
Uh…Leslie….how come you never shared all of the MB products with me? Hmpmh….LOL
LOL -Sorry Soror!
Ooh! I’ve heard about the Moroccan Oil – I may have to splurge one of these days.
I go back and forth about Bare Minerals – I love how it looks, but sometimes in this dry LA air, my face looks flaky and it hides in the wrinkles under my eyes. But yep, it does work better than most other pricey foundations that look overly made up.
You would love the Moroccan Oil!!! You have such beautiful curls….I have major curl envy
I am interested in the drying cream! Off to check that out on my next Sephora visit.
So excited about this post! I’ve been on a natural products kick for facial cleansing, toning, and moisturizing, and I must say that I’m very happy. Super pumped about trying the night moisturizer, woot! And I’ll get some of that drying cream for my mom…she’s been experiencing random breakouts lately.
Hey, thanks for the tip about the Yes to Carrots night cream. I’m going to Target tomorrow, actually.
All the other products I already use (well, not the MB…I don’t have a single blemish…)
I’ve been using Bare Minerals for 7 years now…I already had great skin, but now it is flawless and I believe it gets better with time. Complete strangers have been known to stop me and ask about my skin since I started using it.
The Moroccan Oil is sold online and you can get it a lot cheaper online than in most salons. (If ONLY they would sell that at Target!)
You didn’t mention shampoo, so I’ll add that the BEST shampoo, hands down, is PUREOLOGY. Zero sulfates, 100% vegan and works well with the Moroccan Oil. Sometimes can be found at Target.
I definitely need that Mario Badescu cream in my life. Too bad we don’t have a Sephora or Ulta here.
*plans road trip to mall*
I had to switch over to a real Argan Oil as the synthetic chemicals were irritating my scalp too much. I tried a few different brands, and ended up with Russell Organics Argan Oil, http://www.russellorganics.com and have been happy ever since. Better product and better price.
