Goodbye old friend

Standard

It hurts me so much to part with you. We’ve been through so much together. Our first 5k, runs on the Drive, the gym treadmill in the winter, morningĀ  rendezvous at St. Joe’s track. You have truly served me well. So well that it hurt me to throw you in the trash. I tried to talk myself into keeping you for housework and gardening. *sigh*

Unfortunately, I had to part ways. Cut you off cold turkey for another love. My first pair of non-Nike’s in 33 years.

I tried them on and it was love at first sight. I love any sneakers in either gray or black. I love raspberry pink. Did I mention the arch support? Ahhhh….the arch support.

I just came back from an afternoon run since I was out shopping this morning and yes, it’s official….I have a new love.

  1. Regular runners should get new running shoes every 6 months. But no, no, no…..NO….you don’t throw them in the trash!
You send them to Nike and they recycle them. (Or you can put them in the recycle bin, and they’ll handle that for you.)

Seriously, that rubber will stay in the landfills forever.

  2. now you have graduated to a pair of true runners kicks!!! saucony’s rock!!!

well at least you donated them.. I was going to say if you have a finish line in your area, you could donate the shoes to project soles and get $5 off your shoe purchase!!!

I say its time I make a road trip to Philly for a race or we can meet up in the NYC for a race

  3. Funny! I gave up my black Shox for a pair of Saucony’s. They’re a good, solid pair of running shoes. I love ‘em! Glad you love yours, too!
