I don’t know what to say. I am so sad. We have lost one of the greatest entertainers that ever lived. Rest in Peace Michael.

  1. how ironic that just before i clicked your blog i was humming “never can say goodbye”. on MTV Jams they showed Mr. Jackson’s videos and instead of crying, i just danced and remembered how fun his music is. i can recall where i was when Off the Wall first played, loved that record, well, the entire album.

  2. I think for a lot of us children of the 80′s, we feel like we lost a childhood friend. My elementary and high school friends and I are so sad today. I remember seeing the Jacksons on the Destiny tour in 7th grade, dancing to Wanna Be Starting Something at my 8th grade graduation party and rushing home to see the premiere of Thriller on Friday Night Videos after a 9th grade school dance. And let’s not forget him doing the moon walk on the Motown 25th anniversary special. He was truly an icon and will be missed. People have a lot of opinions about MJ but they can never dispute the fact that he was a true musical genius. RIP Michael Jackson.

  3. The first 45 record I ever had was Ben.
My favorite album of all time is Off The Wall.
I remember waiting up till after Friday Night Videos to see Thriller and then being so afraid I watched most of it with my eyes covered.
I had his poster on my wall.
The first concert my mom went to was the Jackson 5 at Madison Square Garden in 1972.
I remember studying all of the words to the songs on the Thriller album and arguing that MJ was better than Prince with my friends.
I remember slow dancing to Human Nature at my school dance.
I remember how dope that leather tuxedo was in the Billie Jean video.

*sigh* I feel like I have lost part of me.

  4. Off the Wall was my favorite of his albums & Remember the Time was my fav of his videos. Rest in Peace Michael – Condolences to the entire Jackson family.

“Just call my name…….I’ll be there”

  5. Damn sixty.. you spit it and I felt every word.. cause I was living in that same world.. My daughter and I talked last night.. she was sad as well..her team recently did a MJ mix for their dance routine that they won with at Nationals.. at her recital the ending act was a tribute to Thriller.. WHO WOULD HAVE KNOWN.. man

  6. BET Awards really did a great job; A tribute to MJ with only a couple days notice. Impressive.

But Maxwell just stole the show! That man is great. Just great.
(Still LMAO @ Jamie Foxx talking about almost getting “moist” over Maxwell.)
