A Modern Day Wonder Woman

“Stop asking for answers to stuff you already KNOW the answer for.”
“You want something to cry about?”
“Don’t call me talking about your *boyfriend, man, husband*. You went into the garden and saw a whole lot of flowers…..that’s the flower you picked and took home. You better learn how to make it look pretty in your house.”
“That’s your problem….you can’t be wrong AND strong.”
“Your backside better be inside when it’s 6 o’clock because if I have to get up and come outside and get you….I will whoop your azz in front of all of your friends, you hear me?”
“Nosy people have no damn lives.”
“Fix your face.”
“If a man doesn’t want you….there’s nothing you can do about it except move on.”
“A liar always gets found out in the end.”
“Don’t let anybody play in your hair.”
and my personal favorite….
“Never trust a man whose azz is wider than his elbows.”
On Saturday, Tali 1 and I had a great mommy son day. We saw Wolverine Origins and we enjoyed it. For me, Sabretooth rocked, Agent Zero was no joke, I loved Gambit and Deadpool needed more screen time.
For Tali 1, it was all about Wolverine. I gave him a Wolverine shirt to wear to the movie….he loved it and wore it all weekend.

As the oldest child, I know how it feels to be usurped by the baby. Once they arrive, it can feel like you’ve been delegated to the back burner. I enjoy making special time to hang out with my oldest son. He is a great kid, a wonderful big brother and deserves a little one on one time every now and then.
What did Tali 2 do while we were away? He hung out with his daddy, who is also the baby of his family. (Oldest vs. Youngest-LOL). The youngsters went out and had a good time as well. Tali 2 arrived back at home with a new pair of sneakers and was excited as he shared details of his day out with his Daddy.
Having worked the last two Saturdays in a row, it was great to just chill out and be with my family this weekend, despite the rain. Not to mention, a girl loves a date that holds doors and shares his popcorn. Happy Monday!

Yesterday, my team was out on a sales blitz. We had a Cinco de Mayo theme and dropped off gift baskets filled with Mexican themed goodies to different customers.
My question? Why do sales people always want to dress alike and wear khakis and a golf shirt?
Yes, this is the universal uniform of corporate america. Trade shows, teambuilding, sales calls…..khakis and golf shirts.
I own one pair of khakis from the gap. They are pretty standard but I tired to find a funky pair. Flat front, wide legged. LOL
As for golf shirts….unless they are womens shirts….you know, cut and shaped for us….they look like big square shirts.
I HATE EM.
Anyway, most of you know that as much as I like heels, spa days and sushi….I am also a total nerd. I love the X-Men and most certainly am obsessed with all things James Howlett a.k.a Logan a.k.a Wolverine. Luckily for me….so is my son.
Tomorrow afternoon, Tali 1 and I are off to see the Wolverine movie (we’ve had tickets for an entire week) and we are totally pumped. Yes, it is PG 13 but he will be with his mama and I will most definitely cover his eyes when I need to. We had an hour long discussion last night about Gambit, The Blob, Kestrel and Emma Frost. My boy is so excited. Pssst….don’t tell him, but I bought him the most awesome Wolverine shirt to wear to the movie. Nerds Unite!!!!
I also wanted to share a story I read recently regarding two Olympic fencers from Brooklyn. Brother and sister, Keeth and Erinn Smart. They are both Olympians and won silver medals in Beijing. I remember watching them this summer when I was up at some ungoldy hour cheering for Erinn because she was a hometown girl (Brooklyn by way of Jamaica).
Yesterday, I received my high school alumni publication and they were on the cover. I wasn’t aware that the Smarts attended my high school. Gotta love Brooklyn Technical High School baby! We now can add Olympians to our list of distinguished alumni.
What’s on the radar for this weekend???
