I hit the gym this morning and then went straight to the Supermarket. Standing in line for some sliced deli turkey breast, I was approached by an older gentleman.
“I saw you run over here and try to beat me in line.”
“Sir, you look like you could probably out run me.”
He started laughing and then proceeded to talk my ear off for the next five minutes. After finding out he was 91 years old (I didn’t believe him and made him pull out his drivers license), I asked him what he attributed his long life to.
“Two things. One, I never started any mess with someone I knew could beat me. Two, whenever someone in my life was stressing me out…..I got rid of em or avoided them like the plague. That way I was happy more than I was sad.”
Now you can’t argue with that wisdom at all.
So after that auspicious start to the day, I came home and decided to cook my oldest son’s favorite meal. Shrimp Scampi…..
So before I leave to enjoy some grub….I wanted to wish my internet BFF a very Happy Birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALWAYS FUNKY FRESH……one of my favorite bloggers. GO BROOKLYN!

Your food looks so delicious!!! and I definitely agree with the older gentleman — cutting toxic people out does miracles.

great wisdom..i’m just now starting to do this – weed out the negative…you should never walk away from a person feeling worse than when you approached them…and vice versa…happy people feed off happy people!!!

His favorite dish is shrimp scampi? Ur son is a grown man. LOL. At that age, u usually hear kids say that their fav dish is chicken nuggets w/ ketchup.

wow, I thought that was a little sophisticated for a little kid, too. Any future Miss Talis will have to step it up in the kitchen!
