On the eve of my born day, I wanted to share a little good news with you.

I am a firm believer in perseverance, hard work and sacrifice. You only get one life and sometimes you are not given an ideal situation. I am drawn to people that have flaws, that have survived heartbreak and are not afraid to live their lives anyway. Realness goes a long way with me.

Two of my friends are currently doing big things. These ladies are true survivors and no matter what obstacles they face…..they tackle them head on.

CreoleinDC (who has just returned from being selected to attend the Cannes film festival) is currently interning in the Big Apple with Sp.ike L.ee and learning how to make movies. Did you hear me people? She is rolling with the big dogs right about now. If that wasn’t enough…..Today she is the guest blogger on Sep.hor.a’s website and trying to bring some attention to cosmetics and beauty needs for people of ALL colors. Go on over and make a post.

And I also need to congratulate one of my favorite bloggers, Miss Lee. Miss Lee has been working on publishing her first novel for the last few years. Despite her trials and tribulations with publishers and distributors, she has continued with trying to get her book out to the masses. I know for a fact that she has put her blood, sweat and tears into this project and it is finally available for sale.

“Family sticks together.

At least that’s what Rabbit has been brought up to believe.
So when her cousin “Hot Rod” Rodney Barrus – basketball superstar and family breadwinner – is charged with a serious crime, Rabbit is torn between protecting her cousin, who she knows for a fact is guilty, or breaking her silence and upsetting the lives of everyone she loves.”

If this story sounds interesting and you are looking for a good summer read….please go get a copy of Miss Lee’s first novel….Rabbit’s Lucky Number.

I am wishing Miss Lee every success with this endeavor because she has put everything on hold to make it to this point. In addition, the themes of her book center around characters and situations that have brought the two of us together as bloggers and friends. This book has been therapy for her and I feel like I had a teeny little part of helping her through some of it.

I am so proud of you ladies. It’s never too late to live your dreams and you guys are living your lives like it’s GOLDEN.

Congratulations Divas!
