Pssst…..over here. I have an intern that is assigned to me for the next six weeks. She follows me around, sits in my office and is basically shadowing me all over the building.
She is smart as a whip and adorable. However, I NEED SOME DAMNED SPACE.
I can’t check my gossip blogs, look at shoes online, check my news blogs….nothing. How am I supposed to kill my ten hour days if she is tailing me?
Every time I hand her a project thinking it will kill most of her day…..she finishes it in an hour. *sigh* Of all the interns I could get…..I get super intern.
WHERE ARE THE SLACKING INTERNS THAT JUST WANT TO PUT THE JOB ON THEIR RESUME AND NOT DO ANY REAL WORK WHEN YOU NEED EM?
I just made up a random project so she could leave me to blog in peace.
Do any of you have an intern story to tell? What were your internships like in school? Tell the truth….were you a super intern or a slacker? Put me down for slacker

I’m dying over here! Dang, I was about to tag you for a MEME I posted today. You really wouldn’t be able to do it with Super Intern underfoot! I would rearrange my office so she couldn’t see what was on my ‘puter screen. I was like that as a teacher… Kids knew I had a phone booth space rule. You want me? I’ll get up and come to YOU. None of that breathing all in MY air. I have cleanliness and germ phobias something terrible! Good luck with SI (Super Intern)!

LMAO!!! How about I was SUPER Intern!!!! I was always asking for work and finishing it in no time. I know I got on their nerves, but I was always asked to come back, so I made a pretty good impression. I wasn’t all up on their backs though.
She’s just trying to make a good impression…lol

My husband was the super intern type. I know he got on folks’ nerves! Um, we won’t discuss my style. Let’s just say opposites do attract. LOL

i was an intern of all interns…well considering i was 24 and had to move back to my mother’s house to complete such intern with the full knowledge that it was the only want to get into the paid job circle….Heck I was the first one there and last one home!
then one day I realized i was going thru my savings quite quickly and thought that I would have to quit my internship. They offered me a job on the spot! that was over ten years ago and the start of my career.
yaay for interns!

LMAO…
I’ve never had an intern, nor have I ever been one. But I kinda feel like I’m being watched by BL when I’m at home and decide to get on my computer. I notice that he tends to pass thru my office playing with this brothers when I’m blogging…like that fool has Spidey senses! And since you know I’m always talkin shit about his mama…lol…it’s hard to blog in peace unless everyone in my house is in a coma.
Although at my last job, they originally had me sitting with my back to the door – and you KNOW I couldn’t go for that. How the hell am I gonna blog and goof off when ANYONE can see what’s on my puter screen. So of course I had a handy man re-configure my tiny space and turn my desk around. Nosey fucks! I bet they did it on purpose.

Actually, I have two stories. The last intern at my job, we sarcastically called “Super Intern.” She was always trying to do extra, more advanced things when she hadn’t even grasped the projects that had been assigned to her. ~sigh~
My office’s current intern, a law student who just started about a month ago, is quite confident in his abilities (read: cocky). In fact, he is so confident that in the presence of our supervisor, he made fun of a writing sample that had been sent in as part of an application packet. I am praying the law school intern does not attack the JD job applicant about his writing sample when we conduct a group interview of him next week.
As for when I was an intern, I was mostly a slacker with moments of super intern tendencies.

LOL! I’ve had both super and slacker intern. I’d much rather have super intern because I seriously don’t have time to chase up after someone who’s supposed to be working on a project and is instead running up the office phone bill. Besides, the slacker ones end up making you look bad, one way or another.

No intern stories here, but I do think its ironic that a superwoman has a super intern. It’s only right.

LOL. I’m actually in Atlanta on an internship right now. I’m trying to keep up with all this damn work they’re giving me. I would try to get some blogging done, but seeing as how it’s a government agency, they monitor everything from what page I was browsing on the comp, to what pair of shoes I wore when I walked through the door…

Lol. I was absolutely super intern. I even facilitated and completed most of the work for a doc the company owner wanted done. Our interns are usually a hot mess.

I have never done an internship but I know one thing…that intern better needs to get outta the way because I need my 1969 blog fix daily! Maybe I can send her/him some work to do, lol.
